Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics

When thinking about Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics it makes me think of how important this career cluster is to our economy. In what way do you think the cluster contributes to/effects our nation's economy? Please describe your two careers in this cluster first. How do you think each of your two careers in this cluster contribute to/effect our nation's economy? How does this cluster contribute to/effect the other clusters you have completed research in?

My two career choices from the Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics are Gem and Diamond Workers and Commercial Divers. A Gem and Diamond Worker fabricate, finish, or evaluate the quality of gems and diamonds used in jewelry or industrial tools. A Commercial Diver work below surface of water, using scuba gear to inspect, repair, remove, or install equipment and structures. A Gem and Diamond Worker helps the economy by making money. They help make diamonds the way that people want them to sell them for a good amount of money for the economy. A Commercial Diver helps the economy by helping the things underwater. They can help save coral or maybe find pearls underwater to sell if the pearl is good enough.

Gov. and Public Administration/Nurse Practitioner

Recently I have been asking my students to make connections between their personal lives/chosen careers and those careers they choose to research in class. I ask them to to think about how semi-random research can be tied to meaning for them, personally. This week, among other things, we have researched two careers in the Government and Public Administration cluster. I would like to know why students chose to research the careers they did and how they "connect" to their own chosen career.

My two careers from the Government and Public Administration were an Economist and a Chief Executive. My chosen career was a Nurse Practitioner. An Economist relates to the Nurse Practitioner because they each have to keep track of papers. A Economist has to keep track of stocks and records of supply of demand, and a Nurse Practitioner has to keep track of their patients records from the hospital. The other career, a Chief Executive relates to the Nurse Practitioner in the way of they both have to present stuff, and they both have to keep track of things also.

After researching careers in the Ag, Food, and Natural Resources cluster, you should be making connections between those careers and your day to day life. How does each of the two careers you learned about relate to your life? How does each of those careers relate to our community? How do they relate to, fit in to, or affect our nation in general?

I choose a Vet., and a Vet Assistant as my careers. The Vet relates to my life and our community in the way that animals can get hurt and sick in my community and the vets have to take care of them, but if it is not that bad, the owners can take care of them. Also with the Vet Assistant it relates with my community because they need to consult owners. They can call you and let you know if your animal has died.

BMA Comparison

I think that we had to compare our chosen career and a business, management and administration career so that we could see what jobs are out there. So we could see what jobs have similar characteristics so maybe we would want to change our job. We did this to see what similar jobs we could have.

Architecture and Construction career cluster

Students have just finished researching the Architecture and Construction career cluster. I'm curious to know how the two careers they looked at are similar and how they are different. I'm also interested to know if either of those two careers relate in any way to their chosen career. It should be interesting to read their posts!

My two careers from the Architecture and Construction career cluster is Airline Pilots, Copilots, and Flight Engineers and Civil Engineers. They are similar because they both can engineer. The Civil Engineers are more like constructing things rather than the other career which are more like pilots. They both involve critical thinking and near vision.

Now that you have completed some research on your chosen career (, how does it measure up to a career in Human Services? Please make a note of the two careers by name and write about what they have in common. Use your fact sheets to compare the two. After comparing the two careers, decide and write about what those similarities mean to you. Could you work in Human Services? Does it confirm your chosen career and academy or does it make you want to change it?

My chosen career is a Nurse Practitioner. The careers i chose from the human services is a Childcare Worker and the other is a Marriage and Family Therapist. The similarities between the childcare worker and a nurse practitioner is that they both work with people. The childcare worker works more with children when a nurse practitioner works with all ages of people. I think it would be more fun to work with just children just because I love babies, but I wouldn't enjoy spending my day changing diapers. I would enjoy being a nurse practitioner because you get to help all ages of people all day, without changing diapers. Also why I would enjoy being the nurse practitioner instead of the childcare worker is because its the step right below the doctor and its less schooling and still a very good pay. So, after comparing I confirm my pick of a career as a Nurse Practitioner.

Why is it important for you to understand personalities in the workplace? Think of both, knowing your own personality, as well as knowing how to recognize other people's personalities.

It is important to know personalities because if you don't work well with other people you don't want to have a therapist job or job that surrounds you with other people. You have to know others personalities so maybe you don't say something wrong that would offend them or you don't want to put them in a situation that they cannot handle. My career is a nurse practitioner. My personality is good for this job because I like to be around other people and kids and like to help others.
